About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!

Better than a sermon?

What’s more effective than a sermon? Should a pastor be a sage on a stage or a guide along side? (See 1 Corinthians 14:26.) 100 sermons? We believe that instead of having people sit through 100 sermons, it’s much more … Continue reading

Church services–a steel rod or modeling clay?

Traditional church is often programmed like a steel rod (unbendable). However, participatory church meetings, like modeling clay, can be changed on the spot, by the living God, into one-of-a-kind works of art. Behold God’s animation — His claymation!  Watch an … Continue reading
