The Top Ten Boldest Quotations From The Book Of Acts

Would you like to read some really bold statements?  The Book of Acts is full of them.  After reading through Acts 6 times in 3 months, I have picked out my The Top Ten Boldest Quotations From The Book Of Acts:

1)  “You stiff-necked people!  Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised.  You are just like your ancestors:  You always resist the Holy Spirit . . . you who have received the law that was given through angels but have not obeyed it.”  –Stephen

2)  “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money.  You have no part or share in this ministry because your heart is not right before God.  Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord in the hope that He may forgive you for having such a thought in your heart.  For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin.”  –Peter

3)  “In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent.  For He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed.  He has given proof of this to everyone by raising Him from the dead.”  –Paul of Tarsus

4)  “Which is right in God’s eyes:  to listen to you or to Him?  You be the judges!  As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”  –Peter and John

5)  “The apostles were brought in and made to appear before the Sanhedrin to be questioned by the high priest.  ‘We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,’ he said.  ‘Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.”  Peter and the other apostles replied:  ‘We must obey God rather than human beings.'”  Dr. Luke

6)  “I preached they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds.”  –Paul of Tarsus

7)  “He sent for Paul and listened to him as he spoke about faith in Christ Jesus.  As Paul talked about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid.”  –Dr. Luke

9)  “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God.”  –Paul of Tarsus

9)  “With many other words he warned them ; and he pleaded with them, ‘Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.'”  –Dr. Luke

10)  “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give to you.  In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”  –Peter

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!
