About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences in non-traditional church, called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia." If you need encouragement, search for: Elephants Encouraging The Room and/or check out my Amazon author page. Thank you!

Jesus isn’t just a way maker; He, Himself, is the Way!

Sometimes people dim the light of Christ because they don’t like His brightness in their eyes. Many people block the light of Jesus with their own shadow. Then they can’t understand why their life is so dark. Since death couldn’t hold Him down; … Continue reading

Christ’s presence outshines religion

Some people think that God only works through religion. Nothing could be further from the truth. Jesus is the Way, however, sometimes religion can block His way.   Religious programming can unintentionally crowd the presence of Christ out of church. In church … Continue reading

Movin’ beyond mountains of sermons

Do you ever take the time to ask, “Who or what am I following?” A lot of people talk about Christianity. What’s rare is to follow the risen Jesus wherever He leads. If you’re not looking for the living Jesus, you … Continue reading

The Steps of The Beatitudes

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.”  We came to realize that without the risen Jesus we can do nothing, and we humbly surrendered our lives to His control. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they … Continue reading
