Last night I was in a home group of 9 adults (who I don’t know very well) who met to share, sing, support one another, and pray as led by the Spirit. As someone was praying an image came into my mind.
I saw a pair of hands tearing up several pieces of paper into shreds and then throwing the shreds into the air like confetti. Then these words, based on a Scripture, came to my mind: “I have torn up the handwriting of ordinances that was against you.”
As I told the group what I heard and saw, one woman was sitting with her Bible open while I shared. She said: “I am reading that Scripture right now.”
Then she read this section to us: “And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, has He made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses;blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross.”
What are the odds against me having a Bible verse come to mind while someone (in a house church of 9) is silently reading the very same verse? Was this supernatural — a miracle?
God wants you to know: You can be forgiven (and relieved of the guilt you carry) through the Cross of Christ, if you will turn away from your sins and begin to daily follow and obey Jesus.
Steve Isn’t it fantastic that God still talks to us today! this sort of stuff happens to us all the time. Its just normal church life for us I guess its a miracle for some…
Good point, Lindee! Thanks for commenting! God is talking to those who are willing to listen and it is “normal church life.” And it happens far too much to be mere coincidence. However, it is supernatural, that is beyond what the physical world can produce, so therefore, I guess a miracle.
That is Supernatural Steve! Confirming a word knowledge for everyone there at the meeting. God is awesome! thanks for sharing 🙂
Amen, David! God is more real than the air we breathe!
That was pretty awesome. I was sooo wanting to give up last night and today. I just couldn’t and didn’t want to go on It is sooo hard. As I was reading my emails, I read, the teacher is quiet during the test. And now this. That reminds me that God is raising his children up. Praise God.
Though the battle rage, keep up the fight. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you, preciouschild! As you serve and minister to your Christian sister today and tomorrow, God will strengthen you!
Thanks Steve. Got my scooter today!!! Yayayayayaya
YEP! GIVE UP … THAT IS ME RIGHT NOW! HELP ME, GOD, PLEASE!
You’re in a place where God can help you — humble and surrendering!
